Abstract

The article examines the interconnections between the theoretic statements of the Italian futuristic manifests and their embodiment by means of the photographic medium. Besides, special attention is paid to the peculiarities of the visual perception of the photographic images and to certain aspects of the nature of medium which determined the attitude of the futuristic art towards the photographic practices. In the article the author considers particularly the ways of applying photography of the late 19th c. in the futuristic practices and also poses the question on how the old methods were radically rethought in the process of their adaptation to completely new aesthetics.
