Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reception of exhibition of the Soviet painters (Alexander and Sergei Gerasimov, Arkady Plastov, Alexander Deineka) in Belgrade in 1947. With this we want to examine the tight connections between visual sphere and ideology, in the period of strong Soviet influence in Yugoslav country, during the fi rst years aft er World War II. Our aim is to problematize the real dimensions of applying the Soviet artistic model — socialist realism, in our culture, using the example of this exhibition. |
