Abstract

Jules Chéret is one of painters and graphic artists of the second half of the 19th century. He is the founder of poster art in France and the publisher of “Les Maîtres de l’affi che” series which includes reduced lithographic versions of the best posters of Europe and America, by more than 90 great artists. The plates of the series are unique material for the research in the domain of poster art.
