“Actual problems of theory and history of art” is my first experience of speaking at an academic conference and publishing my work. Almost every year I attend this conference as a listener. Thanks to the organisers and the founders of the conference for a chance to share my observations and present my work along with renowned art historians. That is rather sad that the sections work at the same time, because all the themes are really interesting.

Taking part to the conference in St Petersburg for the first time in 2014, I was deeply impressed by the professionalism of the organisers. Not only the high level of the participants, but also the chosen themes of the conference, the variety of interesting lectures and of course the hospitality of the beautiful "art" town of St Petersburg are very impressive. Also the fact that so many young people participated either presenting their own papers or working as volunteers gives great hopes for the future. The excursion to Novgorod was just great! Hopefully we will all meet again in Moscow this year.

Every year the conference gets bigger and involves new participants among museums of Saint-Petersburg and Moscow, which is good news. I think that the conference’s main advantage is that it is open to young art historians. It is very beneficial for them in terms of their academic career, to attend an event of such level, to participate in a process of organising it and then to present a paper and work on key points for a publication.

Despite its young age, the conference “Actual problems of theory and history of art” has taken a notable position in the row of major humanities forums. The conference combines both strict academic and informal approaches. Not only the conference gives young academics a great opportunity to share their ideas and learn from experts, but it also creates a lively working environment, which is essential for humanities. Special thanks to the organisers of the yearly conferences in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, those every year show their extraordinary organisational skills and care of participants: Anna Zakharova, Svetlana Maltseva and Yekaterina Stanyukovich-Denisova.

The conference “Actual problems of theory and history of art” is essentially important and beneficial for the development of Russian art criticism as it brings together both Russian researchers and academics from abroad. The conference gives one an opportunity to expand his knowledge, learn diverse innovative approaches to art criticism, to share his experience and knowledge. It gives an impulse to the further movement, that’s why we do need this conference very much. With my best regards I would like to note a high level of organisation of the conference and great work of the organising committee, editors and volunteers. They did their best in releasing amazing publications, organising tours and taking care of everyone.

A place, where young researchers meet experts; diversity of themes and various angles of looking at them; very well organised work of all groups and amazing evening cultural programme for participants; well-timed publications and their quality – this was the conference “Actual problems of theory and history of art” for me. I am truly thankful to the organisers for their efforts in making this unique event possible.

The conference “Actual problems of theory and history of art” is a decent basis for both young researches and recognised experts. The conference is organised on a highest level possible, starting from the introduction of speakers and work of sections to accommodation and leisure time management.
The range of themes is very broad, which draws specialists of very different fields of academic study.
For the last three years I have taken part in the conference, I have only got the most pleasant memories. I have met new people and I wish to present my academic achievements there every year.
