Abstract

«Russian Hut», which is situated on the Pogodin Street in Moscow, belonged to the famous Russian historian Mikhail Pogodin. It is an important building for the development of the national Russian style in the second half of the 19th century. This article is devoted to the question of the initial appearance of the building. Th e author considers early depictions of the hut, which enable to reconstruct the original appearance of the Pogodin Izba with a high probability.
