Abstract

Данное сообщение посвящено роли Василия II как покровителя искусств. Несмотря на то, что он известен как один из наименее заинтересованных в культурной жизни правителей в византийской истории, с его именем связаны две замечательные рукописи: Менологий из Ватиканской библиотеки и Псалтирь из библиотеки Марчиана в Венеции. Автор попытался реконструировать культурную и художественную деятельность при Василии II.
